What happens while Kepter reads your library

Right after setup, Kepter reads the files already in your watched folders so it can show and find them. You will see a quiet Reading status while this happens.

What to expect:

1. You can use Kepter right away. Files appear as they are read, and search works from the first minute. It gets better as more of your library is read.
2. Kepter stays out of your way. It reads while your Mac is idle and backs off the moment you touch anything.
3. Battery is fine. Reading runs on battery power. It only pauses if your Mac gets critically hot.
4. Big libraries take time. Thousands of files can take a while on the first pass. Leaving your Mac on overnight finishes it fastest.

You can pause reading whenever you like, from the menu bar or in Settings → Folders. Kepter picks up where it left off.
