Getting started

Choose the folders Kepter watches

Checked against macOS 26 · August 2026

Kepter only looks where you point it. When you first set it up, it offers your Desktop, Downloads, and Documents folders, the three places most things land. You can turn any of them off, and you can add other folders.

Anything saved into a watched folder shows up in your library on its own. You never file anything.

Settings, then Folders: the watched list, Stop on one, and it comes back with a click.

Change it any time

  1. Open Kepter’s Settings and choose Folders.
  2. Each watched folder is listed. Click Stop next to one to stop watching it.
  3. Click + Add a folder to watch somewhere new. Your Mac will ask permission for the folder, which is normal. Here is what that prompt means.

Stopping a folder never touches the files inside it. They stay exactly where they are. Kepter just stops showing them.
